Working with Councils
Our first experience of working with the local authorities was in spring 2000 with Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council and the Environmental Health Division. It was agreed that the Dog Glove solution was indeed an innovative idea and a trial was agreed. In order to achieve a fair assessment of the trial it was important to select various locations taking into consideration area and reputation. All in all there were 10 locations chosen across the Stockport area.
There were a few concerns raised by the Council prior to the trial and these were, Vandalism, bag wastage through Vandalism and public take up. Both JRB Enterprise and the Council were pleasantly surprised at the end of the 9 week period. In one park that was reputed for vandalism there were limited problems, however in the all the other 9 locations the results were excellent. The public feedback was great, backing the idea in full and the local dog owners all commented, on what a good idea it was and how user friendly the units and bags were. It also gained credibility for the Council having introduced and sponsored the solution showing commitment to this nasty high profile problem.
The situation now is that JRB Enterprise and the Council have expanded the amount of units across the the region to over 40 in a bid to further reduce the dog waste problem and associated public concerns.
We our now supplying thousands of councils all over the Country, as well as: The National Trust , British Waterways, Police Dog Handling Units, Parks and Beaches, Golf Courses, Camp Sites & Many more.
